Self-Journey to The Deafhood

Deafhood is a journey that each Deaf person undertakes to discover their true identity and purpose here on the Earth as a Deaf person. I love Deaf culture and American sign language (ASL). I'm proud to be Deaf.

The metaphor is that we're in the land of Audism. We're the minority in the hearing world. Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) like speech therapy, auditory training, and cochlear implants are part of the second wave of Oralism that are trying to bury our Deaf culture and our Deaf identity, and our beautiful sign language, ASL under the sea.
